Happy New Year

After a nice Christmas break, Topaz, Zoic and Taps are back at work and getting everything ready for another summer. We’re currently booking Church visits for February, March and April, receiving lots and lots of staff applications and preparing for a very full 2007 season. If you would like to have Camp Staff visit your church to talk about Cairn, please contact Taps and he will make it happen.

Registration - Early Bird Price

A reminder - the early bird price for all registrations ends on January 15th, 2007. In order to qualify for this discounted price, total payment must be received by January 15th, 2007.

To register, please visit www.ilovecamp.org and click on “Summer Schedule” at the top of the page.

Iona Yurts - Winter Rentals

Our Iona Yurts are available for Winter Rental. Each Yurt has a built-in wood stove and sleeps up to 4 people in comfort. The Yurts are perfect as a “home base” for snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tobogganing, cross-country skiing and skating on the lake. We would love to see active families, Youth Groups and Church groups spend part of their winter with us. Camp can also help you find equipment rentals.

Yurt

The cost of Yurt Rentals is $45.00 per night.

For more information, please e-mail zoic@ilovecamp.org, or call the Cairn Office.

Glen Mhor Outdoor Centre

The Glen Mhor Outdoor Centre still has spaces available to groups in May and June.

As a special offering, new schools in 2007 will get a 15% discount.

For more information about the Glen Mhor Outdoor Centre, please visit this link, or
e-mail taps@ilovecamp.org.

Church Visits

Church Visits are a great way to remind your congregation about camp. Each year, we are invited to speak at Churches across the Synod, and we would be thrilled to add your Church to that list.

Church Visits are available from January to April and will feature a Children’s Story, an announcement to the congregation and an informative and colourful display after the service.

To book a visit, or for more information, contact Taps: taps@ilovecamp.org.

Reconnecting with Camp People

The Cairn Crossroads (forum) has sections devoted to campers and camp staff from the past. If you are looking to reconnect with old camp friends, that is the place to start. www.ilovecamp.org/forum.

We have been asked by Cairn Alumni to help them connect with people they used to go to camp with so here is our first online request: Robin is looking for an old friend who worked at Camp Iona in the 1990s named Aaron Bradley. If anyone has contact with Aaron, please contact Cairn and we will pass along Robin’s email address to him.
