Wild Wonders at Iona

Campers aged 9 to 12 are at Iona this week for Wild Wonders.  They spent the afternoon in the water today, swimming and practicing canoe rescues.             

                

                                    

New Office Trailer for Iona

Henry Peyer, a camp supporter from Brampton, donated a renovated office trailer for us to use at Iona.  The trailer will be perfect for rainy opening days, tuck shop storage and tripping gear storage.

We want to thank Henry very much for his kind donation and continuing support of Cairn.  This will be a fantastic addition to our Iona facilities.

Almost There...

Thank You Gracefield!

We want to say "Thank You VERY Much" to the spring staff of Gracefield Camp & Conference Centre for their help for two days this week.
The Gracefield staff was kind enough to drive almost 5 hours from near Wakefield Quebec to swat bugs, clear trail and haul brush in the sweaty weather.

We have been so blessed!

I was over at the original Iona site in Bala today to check on things.  We are getting set up to start the move to Baysville as the snow melts.

I have posted some more pictures to  the Cairn Camping group.

How is Iona Going to Work?

I want to thank an Iona parent for taking the time to write us an email with some questions about how the Iona programme will work on the Baysville site. 
He wrote:

I am trying to find out about Camp Iona Sessions.  When are they and what is being offered?  Is there somewhere that will give me a list of just Iona programs, because I am having trouble identifiying what I would consider any Iona program based on the information presented.  Is there ONLY one white water canoe trip?  Are there any 6 day canoe trips?
Do you have any information on how you are running the new Iona.  What are its programs, philosophy, organization, new physical set up and how things are to work, and so on.
