Every so often, parents and campers take the time to write us letters about the effect camp has had on their lives. We feel so lucky to get these messages, and so fortunate to be able to have a positive impact on the lives of our campers! Here are 3 quick messages we've received lately...
1. Our daughter loves Glen Mhor more than words can say. She is shy but camp brings out all the best in her and she shines in the singing and dancing and crafting and and and!!!! She has convinced her best friend to join her this year. Our daughter's goal is to work at Glen Mhor some day so put her to work now!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!
2. Our daughter is extremely shy but camp is so good for her. It lights her up and she comes out of her shell!!! She wants to work there in the future. Last summer she missed Glen Mhor because she spent the whole summer in India building a school. We are so proud of her. Even though she is shy, she will get something in her mind that is important to her, and nothing will stop her. I hope you continue to inspire this in her! Thank you!!!!!!!!
3. Our daughter comes home singing her heart out and I love music so much that I have her teach me all the songs. I use them both at school (teacher) and at church (choir leader for small children). This past sunday we performed "If You Love Jesus" as the finale to our love medley. It was awesome! Thank you for your positive influence!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Monday, Cairn was asked to present it's report to Synod. We showed the Teen Week Video, and then Allison Cooper did a great job delivering the Camp Report. In the discussions that followed, many Commissioners and Ministers took the floor to express their support of Cairn, and to ask good questions about the future. The report was well received, and we felt very supported by those in attendance at Synod.
A huge thanks to all the performers and the camp staff who made our first annual concert a success! We had lots of help with set-up, take-down, food, tickets and behind-the-scenes preparations, and we appreciate it all very much.
To those who came for the show, thank you also for your support of camp. We were a small crowd this year, but full of friendly faces and willing participants. As this concert grows over the next few years, I suspect we'll all talk about the good old days of 2007 - when we didn't always have to use microphones, and there was plenty of punch for everyone!
Lastly, thank you to the musicians. You were all spectacular.
Let's do it again next year!
